I wrote this text as part of an internship application, but it’s so timeless and always a great reminder.
Life can be so easy when you just focus on the things you do day in and day out: work, watch TV, eat, sleep and repeat. Most people don’t think about what inspires them or what their real purpose in life is. Most people don’t even believe that they have the right to dream big, especially when it comes to work, love, life, health and family. Most people often feel comfortable doing the same things every day, struggling every day and fighting against the same old problems. Most people think this is life and this is all life has to offer to them.
But then there are these other people
People we absolutely admire and acknowledge what they have achieved in life. People that do what they love – every day – Monday to Friday and even on the weekends. People who are successful in almost everything they do. These people also never seem to work, it’s almost like defining work as something rewarding to a bigger picture in life. Most people also believe that this is a privilege only accessible to ‘others,’ someone from another ‘level’ or someone with unique skills and abilities.
I firmly believe that most people fear to take full responsibility for their life’s because it’s so much easier to complain, not to leave any comfort zones than to take action. Actually, complaining is an interesting behavioural concept as it is to blame other people for being responsible for a bad day, an unfulfilling life or job. The interesting part starts when people start to act. Suddenly all of the magic life has to offer us every day will become so visible and vital. Every one of us is responsible for their own accomplishments in life. If there is one advice: Dream big. If this is not on your mind, who else can deliver greatness?
„I’m not good enough.“
– the most common belief ever
Not being good enough is something which holds back so many people from what they have always dreamed of. Often people fear a lack of experience or just conjure up excuses why things did not work out in the first place. It’s common, it’s human, it’s easy. But imagine what would have been achieved in this world if all of the dream chasers out there suddenly stopped following their dreams just because of the fear of not being good enough? We wouldn’t have seen as many great inventions over the last decades. Understanding where this fear has its roots and to resolve it deep inside your heart is the only revealing tool that helps you grow.
Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.
– Paulo Coelho in „The Alchemist“
As Paulo Coelho states in his famous book The Alchemist: “Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.” It’s tough to find your purpose in life but if you start to think about it, you will never stop, and soon you will realize that every limitation is just within your head. Transforming this limitation into the strength to just start with a small first step will change your life forever. The universe will guide you to explore new possibilities and shows you the path to go next. Just do it – and put all your trust in the fact that big things are coming for the ones who believe in it. One step at a time – over and over again.
At the end of the day, there is just one thing always to remember:
